Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Incident

This incident caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
